Epic Games, Incorporated is an American computer and video game developer and publisher located in Cary, North Carolina. The company was started by Tim Sweeney in 1991, initially located at his parents' home in Potomac, Maryland, where he earned a Bachelors degree in Physics. He then worked for several years for a series of companies, most notably Quest, which he had worked with on a freelance basis.
